About This Residence Status
A higher-level status requiring more advanced skills than Specified Skilled Worker (Type 1). There is no cumulative period limit (renewed every 3 years), and bringing family members is permitted. Covers 11 specified industry fields such as construction, shipbuilding, agriculture, and food manufacturing (nursing care remains Type 1 only for now). Requires passing a more advanced skills evaluation test, and effectively serves as a pathway to permanent residency.
